REBEL Entertainment Complex was on a whole other level last night when HXOUSE – a not-for-profit initiative established by XO creative director La Mar Taylor – celebrated its launch with an exclusive concert featuring The Weeknd, NAV, Bryson Tiller and The Neighbourhood. The event was proudly presented by STACK, Google Pixel 3 and INK Entertainment.
HXOUSE is a next generation incubator and accelerator for young, Toronto/GTA-based creatives backed by the XO team La Mar Taylor, Ahmed Ismail and Abel Tesfaye (better known as The Weeknd). The initiative is at the forefront of fostering innovation and opportunities for creative entrepreneurs and will help facilitate connections within the music and entertainment industry for said creatives. HXOUSE is meant to empower and inspire young entrepreneurs who would not receive this kind of outlet otherwise. It will teach youth the tools, programming and networking in this industry through mentorship, funds and the freedom to activate their talent and translate it into a sustainable career.
The event inside REBEL on November 6th capped off two days of panels, discussions and excitement for the HXOUSE team as they showcased their new collaborative workspace located at Artscape Daniel’s Launchpad. The concert featured friends of the XO family, including The Weeknd – himself, plus surprise appearances by rappers 88Glam, Gunna and Belly.
The Weeknd also broke news to the hometown crowd that his next album, titled Chapter 6, is on the way.
INK Entertainment was proud to partner and present with HXOUSE, the XO team, STACK and Google Pixel 3 for last night’s event and will continue to assist in fostering young creatives in the city of Toronto.
