Mr. Brainwash Limited Edition Prints in support of Street Haven

Art has the ability to bring joy in the most challenging times.

As the world continues the fight against COVID-19, it is more important than ever to look for the positives and to give back when possible. INK Entertainment’s Taglialatella Galleries is thrilled to be partnering with legendary pop-artist, Mr. Brainwash, on a limited edition We Love Canada print.

Available for purchase as of today, 10 per cent of the signed prints’ sales will be donated to Street Haven, a local organization supporting women experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.

As the Canadian outpost of the Taglialatella brand, Taglialatella Galleries New York launched an Art for Relief campaign in March to share positive imagery and support local charities during this time. Featuring internationally renowned artists like Mr. Brainwash, Burton Morris, and Russell Young, the Art for Relief campaign has raised nearly $20,000 USD.

INK Cares supporting our front line workers

We extend our thanks to the frontline workers for all they have done during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than anyone could have imagined, their lives have been turned upside down as they put their health at risk to help us. As part of an INK Cares initiative and to express our sincere gratitude, each week our kitchen staff at the Bisha Hotel are preparing a selection of sweet and savoury food donations for the incredible teams at Toronto hospitals. While remaining inside is the greatest way to support healthcare workers and at-risk individuals, we hope to provide a moment of relief and offer this as a token of our appreciation during these trying times. We can’t thank you enough.

Do you know a heroic team of frontline workers helping combat COVID-19? Email us at pr@inkentertainment.com to request a complimentary food donation. We will do our best to accommodate all inquiries.

An important message from INK Entertainment

These are incredibly difficult and unprecedented times. Each day we come to work, we look forward to providing our guests with memorable experiences and warm service. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to close all of our Canadian venues effective immediately.

As the world navigates the coronavirus, we extend our thanks to local officials and healthcare professionals for all they are doing. We offer our deepest gratitude to our valued guests and local community for their unwavering support over the years and their understanding of this decision during an incredibly difficult time.

The situation is fluid. We are closely monitoring the news, recommendations from the government and health experts, and the development of the virus. We want to do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and will remain closed until further notice. We look forward to welcoming you back as a valued guest as soon as we can.

We wish you and your family health and wellness.

Sincerely,

Charles Khabouth, CEO, INK Entertainment

La Société bids Au Revoir to Bloor

INK Entertainment‘s award-winning French bistro La Société will celebrate its final night of service on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant opened in June of 2011 and instantly captured the city’s attention for its inventive French fare, luxurious furnishings and jaw-dropping 20 by 30 ft stained-glass ceiling. After an incredibly successful first year, INK announced its plans to open a second location in Montreal.

“We have had an amazing tenure on Bloor Street with La Société,” says Charles Khabouth, CEO, INK Entertainment. “We attribute this lifespan to our talented chefs, staff, and of course our loyal customers. The city is evolving, as are we, and we think Toronto is ready for what we have coming.”

Accelerating Toronto’s culinary scene for nearly three decades, Toronto can expect a new addition to Charles Khabouth’s restaurant empire at the coveted Bloor Street space in the near future.

La Société will be hosting a special four course farewell dinner on Tuesday, December 10th, featuring a $90 set menu and $45 wine pairing option. The final night on New Year’s Eve will serve a $100 luxe prix fixe menu starting at 7:30pm, with a DJ and complimentary sparkling wine at midnight. Regular restaurant hours will resume for the month of December.

To make a reservation one last time, head to OpenTable or call 416-551-9929.

What’s inside Akira Back, the Michelin-starred chef’s first Canadian restaurant?

After opening its doors to Toronto in December, Akira Back has been wowing the city with Japanese-Korean dishes in a space inspired by the chef’s mother’s art. We invited Toronto Life and BlogTO to check out the restaurant for themselves and here’s what they had to say…

The Food

“The menu of Korean-flavoured Japanese dishes features a few of Back’s playful signature items (tuna pizza, wagyu tacos), a whole whack of fancy ingredients (foie gras, caviar, truffle paste) and more-traditional sushi, sashimi and maki. One dish exclusive to this location is Back’s quirky tribute to Canada: crispy cubes of rice topped with seared tuna and flavoured with ketchup powder, because ketchup chips.”

The Interior

“The Toronto restaurant on the second floor of the Bisha Hotel by a world-renowned chef is surprisingly personal. Exterior signage, a sophisticated ceiling design and even plates feature artwork inspired by the chef’s mother. Even getting into the restaurant is impressive thanks to an all-gold stairway.”
